A California native with over thirty years in ornamental horticulture, Alex has earned a Bachelor’s degree in Sustainable Plant Systems (with a design specialization) and an M.S. in Agricultural and Extension Education, both from The Ohio State University.
During his eight years’ experience as a nursery manager, Alex broadened and honed his plant knowledge. As a landscape construction foreman, he installed every facet of the high quality garden projects he was involved in, including water features and irrigation, drainage, and lighting systems. Through most of his career he has been designing planting plans for residential gardens.
Growing up enjoying the outdoors, Alex prefers to use native plants and natural stone where appropriate, and is a huge fan of enhancing wildlife value in the landscape.
