Hoyas are beautiful, carefree plants wonderful for hanging baskets in well-lit, bright locations.
Allow these plants to get dry between waterings. Their thicker leaves allow for water storage so it is very easy to over water. Foliage wrinkles when under watered, and turns yellow or gets brown spotting if over watered. If dry pieces of the vine occur, it hasn’t had enough water. Cut those pieces back to healthy vine or to the soil.
Feed consistently during active growth. Use a general houseplant fertilizer, following the directions on the package.
Save repotting for when plant is absolutely pot bound. Blooming and growth occur once the plant is pot bound, which can take up to two years. They continue to bloom from the same spurs so do not remove the section the older flowers came out of.
