Our first goal was to heavily screen the traffic and sound from the busy road. We built a series of stone walls with terraces to create privacy and allow for interesting planting arrangements. This configuration demonstrates how a tall wall doesn’t have to feel imposing. Its curving form and “planting pocket” terraces allow focal-point plants to be showcased, while adjacent plantings add seasonal interest through color and textural variation.

We incorporated several of our Outdoor Living products. We are a distributor for NatureKast Outdoor Cabinetry so we installed a great outdoor kitchen. In addition to different types of paver materials and decking, we included Pavilion structures from Berlin Gardens and a custom-built fireplace structure. All components that we work into Outdoor Living Spaces for our customer’s homes.

The space has become a popular setting to host the Beavercreek Chamber of Commerce, The Dayton Chapter of American Institute of Architects and other groups for their annual events. Additionally, we make great use of it for our own employee events throughout the season. It was a pleasant surprise for us to see it become a popular setting for local high school students to stop by and take Homecoming and Prom pictures! We certainly welcome them!

We consider our Patio to be an ongoing project that showcases both newly introduced plants alongside well-known “tried and true” plants from our region. As a result, it is likely that we will never consider the garden to be completed. Like most of our customers, our Patio garden will be an ongoing, ever-changing palette that will develop indefinitely. Please stop by to visit us and check it out!
