The Montgomery
The primary focus of this landscape design is to allow the plain, modern ranch house to disappear, and become a part of the background with the lush plantings becoming the primary focus of the property. Situated on ¾ acres of land in the middle of farming country, this property has been transformed in phases, from a neat little ranch home to a planned English garden. The first task was to disguise the brick veneer for some good old world charm. We planted Boston ivy with the intention of keeping it well maintained, allowing the hard exterior of the home to become a soft and subtile backdrop for the planned garden spaces of boxwood hedges, stone walls and lovely perennials, all in keeping with an English Garden. The gardens were designed to allow expansions over the years including an outdoor stone fireplace and a wonderful kitchen garden with raised beds and espalier fruit trees.
