This customer contacted our office seeking a proposal for a new Outdoor Living Space for their back yard.  The project would include removal of an existing storage shed, removal of a small existing patio, removal of some existing plant material, repositioning an existing garden wall, improving access around the deck, installation of the patio area and some minor planting additions.  While the original plan was to have a new shed installed, ultimately the decision was made that it would no longer be necessary.

 

I met with the customer at their home and listened to all of the goals that she hoped to achieve with the project.  Since they already had a generous sized deck attached to the house, I asked how many people this space needed to accommodate, and in what way the new space might be used.  I took the information I gathered from the conversation, pictures I took of the property, the measurements I needed, and worked out a plan.

 

I met with the customer to discuss the layout I had suggested.  The overall form was much different from what she was expecting, but it fit well with the existing site and perfectly suited their needs.  After receiving the requested proposals from competitive companies, the customer contacted me to let me know that they would like to go forward with the plan I had proposed.

 

The project was installed in the spring of 2022.  The customer selected the perfect furnishings for the space to add a great finishing touch.  She shared with me that it has become a casual gathering spot for some of the friendly neighbors to stop by and visit.
