Small, dark green, glossy leaves maintain their color year-round, unlike many boxwood that tend to bronze in winter. Responds well to shearing and is attractive as an individual specimen or part of a highly manicured border, low hedge, or parterre. Left unsheared it will become an attractive garden feature that is wider than tall. Useful in contemporary landscape. Shows some deer resistance.
