Description
Large tree with bark that is a blackish brown in color. The scaly bark has irregular longitudinal breaks, and lenticels that are very inconspicuous. Leaf color is a glossy dark green. Growth rate is fast. Tolerates landscape conditions well. An all-around, good, vigorous performer. Has shown resistance to all three pests, especially Hemlock Wooly Adelgid. Compared to Canadian Hemlock, the habit is more relaxed in the growing season and more rigid in the dormant season.
